THE PHOENIX HOUSE
Why Our Sober Living Houses?
The Phoenix House is a sober living home that provides 24/7 counselling support coupled with a client specific plan with the aim of helping the client achieve independence. Clients at The Phoenix House are always asked to engage in this process with the therapeutic aim of helping them begin to feel a sense of engagement with their own recovery. Length of stay is decided on a client by client basis as every client is different.
Our Sober living house functions as the bridge between a residential treatment program to true independence & freedom of self.
Sober living is an excellent option for those who have been struggling with relapse and have identified the need for additional support, community and safety.
Here are some good reasons why people choose our sober living house...
Around 70-90% of people relapse during the transition from rehab to home. The sober living house acts as a halfway point and thus reduces the risk of relapse.
Moving into a sober living house will give a client a safety net and a blueprint for beginning a life in sobriety which will allow people to ease their way back into a healthy life.
Counselling & therapy sessions will be available to residents as part of the program. Also, meetings are held at the house on specific days & nights which are mandatory for clients.
The rules of these facilities are that no alcohol or drugs are allowed; if somebody relapses they will need to leave. This means that those who stay in these houses are protected from temptation.
Loneliness can be a real problem in early recovery and can easily act as a relapse trigger. Those who live in this type of environment are much less likely to suffer from loneliness, and they can begin building a new and healthy social network.
Our sober living house have guidelines and regulations that their residents agree to follow. These include nightly curfews, random drug screens, required weekly meeting quotas, and maintaining a recovery lifestyle.
